New for basic insurance

These changes to our compulsory basic insurance products will apply starting 1 January 2026.

New basic insurance offers from 1 January 2026

Further expansion of the range of doctors under BeneFit PLUS Flexmed:

You will now be able to select doctors from Sanacare, zMed, RPG (réseau des pédiatres genevois) and ifa Baden under the BeneFit PLUS Flexmed AIM. The Medbase, Medix and Reseau Delta networks are still available in the general practitioner range.

Starting 1 January 2026, persons insured under an alternative basic insurance model, BeneFit PLUS Telmed, BeneFit PLUS Flexmed and Premed24 will be able to take advantage of the new in-depth consultation options at one of our partner pharmacies. For simple acute complaints, our customers receive rapid treatment – if necessary in a separate consultation room. Helsana will cover the costs of the in-depth consultation. On request, customers can receive information about treatment from the partner pharmacy, including documented medication and therapies, all via the Compassana app.

You can find more information on this new offer at helsana.ch/partner-pharmacies.

The new collaboration with selected pharmacy chains ensures uncomplicated access to an initial medical consultation – quickly, with no need for an appointment, and with no waiting.

Age-related changes

At the start of the calendar year following the year in which the insured person turned 18, the insured person is switched to the young adult premium level with a standard deductible of CHF 300. The previously applicable children’s discount will then cease to apply. However, we support all young adults until the end of calendar year in which they turn 25 by charging them a youth premium. This is at least 20% below the full adult premium, or 10% lower for residents of other countries (cross-border commuters, employees posted abroad). For those looking for a lower premium, we recommend increasing the annual deductible or switching to an alternative insurance model.

Change deductible Compare models

Under the Federal Health Insurance Act (KVG), we are not permitted to offer young adults a discounted youth premium after the end of the calendar year in which they turned 25. These customers will therefore be charged the adult premium. For those looking for a lower premium, we recommend increasing the annual deductible or switching to an alternative insurance model.

CO2 and VOC levy: refund of environmental levies

In 2026, all Swiss residents will once again receive a refund of the incentive levies raised by the Swiss federal government. These incentive levies set incentives to reduce emissions of environmentally damaging substances and gases in Switzerland (particularly CO2 and volatile organic compounds/VOCs). For administrative reasons, the refund is paid out in the form of a reduction in the premium for compulsory health insurance.

Helsana will credit the amount of CHF 61.80 per insured person against all premiums due during the year. Where premiums are paid monthly, the amount credited will be CHF 5.15 per month.
