What we eat and how much we exercise has a direct impact on our health – and on our weight. In her 30-day challenge, Michelle shows how making small changes during everyday life can have a big impact.
Michelle is 25 years old, a single mother of two – and always on the go. Between work, the house, and organising her family, she doesn’t get much time for herself. Her diet? All over the place, often with frequent snacking and few planned evening meals. At the end of the day, she feels exhausted and no longer feels comfortable in her own skin.
That’s why Michelle is taking on a 30‑day‑ self-experiment for healthier habits. Her goal: she wants to make her daily routine healthier by improving her diet and becoming more active again. If she loses some weight in the process – even better. She is supported by Natalie Bez, a nutritionist (SVDE) and researcher at the Bern University of Applied Sciences.
For her challenge, Michelle is relying on these three everyday tips:
Michelle often misses breakfast – causing her to fall into the snack trap later on. Simple, balanced meals such as porridge, yoghurt with berries or wholemeal bread with egg provides a more stable start to the day.
These recipes should be balanced, quick and simple – and contain ingredients that she always has on hand at home. So Michelle doesn’t have to think too much in the evening and makes healthier decisions automatically.
Rather than rushing straight into cooking while feeling stressed, Michelle experiments with short pauses – taking a brief walk, focusing on her breathing, or reading a book with her children. These rituals help her to eat more consciously and in a more balanced way.
Will Michelle lose weight following these tips? Find out in the video.
It’s never too late to examine and change unhealthy habits. Michelle’s self-experiment shows that even small changes in everyday life can make a big difference.
