Are you insured under BeneFit PLUS General Practitioner or BeneFit PLUS Flexmed and have changed your GP? If so, please notify us of the change. This way, you will fulfil the obligations of your chosen BeneFit PLUS model. Important: Please check in advance whether your chosen GP or group practice is recognised by us and is available in your basic insurance model.
Notify us of a change of your GP or group practice by calling 0844 80 81 82 or via the contact form.
Check in advance whether your chosen GP or group practice is recognised under your model – i.e. BeneFit PLUS General Practitioner or BeneFit PLUS Flexmed – and whether it is accepting new patients. You can find all GP and group practices for your basic insurance model in our doctor search (BeneFit PLUS General Practitioner or BeneFit PLUS Flexmed). You can also register with your new practice directly and hand over your health records to them. This ensures that the practice can treat you quickly and easily in the event of a health issue. You can request the documents from your previous general practitioner. Helsana cannot carry out this step for you.
You can inform us at any time that you would like to change your general practitioner. The change will take effect the following month, provided that your chosen practice is available in your insurance model. If you have already received a second breach letter, it is not possible to change practice.
After you change your GP or group practice, we will send you a new insurance policy with an adjusted premium if necessary. In addition to your area of residence, your age and your insurance model, the amount of your premium depends on whether your doctor belongs to a network and, if so, which one.
We have collaboration contracts with discount level “R1-R3” doctors. These doctors have an active, regulated responsibility for coordinating treatments. They also take specific measures aimed at promoting quality. Discount level “R4” doctors do not have a collaboration contract with us.
It may be that your new doctor is listed under the name of the practice rather than their own name. It is also possible that they are not approved for your insurance model. In this case, please select a different GP or group practice. Alternatively, you can change your basic insurance model. It is generally possible to change model on 1 January of the following year.
If you are insured under BeneFit PLUS General Practitioner or BeneFit PLUS Flexmed, you benefit from a lower premium. In return, you agree to first contact your chosen medical contact in the event of health problems. In order for you to fulfil this obligation, your chosen GP or group practice must be correctly registered with us. You must also inform the practice of your choice.
