Why is sleep so important?

Sleeping disorders are one of the most common reasons for a visit to the doctor. One in two people suffer from them occasionally, while ten per cent are affected by a chronic sleeping disorder. Poor sleep can result in memory problems, high blood pressure, heart diseases, a stroke, diabetes, depression and anxiety.
