Four steps to an apprenticeship contract

From submitting an online application to starting your apprenticeship:

Have you found a vacancy for an apprenticeship that interests you and matches your expectations and abilities? If so, send us your application.

You can find the link to the online application tool directly in the apprenticeship advertisement. You will then be taken through the online application process step by step. Upon submission, you will receive an immediate confirmation of receipt. This will be followed within ten days by an initial decision explaining the current status and what happens next.

Good to know
  • Make sure that you submit a complete application pack in a single Word or PDF file.
  • Make reference to the information in the job advertisement and tell us what appeals to you about your selected apprenticeship and why you think you are suitable for the position.
  • Your CV should be concise, clear, up to date and complete. We are also interested in what jobs and companies you have already had exposure to and what you like to do in your free time.
  • In addition to all of your secondary education certificates, please also submit an up-to-date Multicheck (a professional aptitude test) for your chosen apprenticeship (e.g. the “Business Administrator E-profile”) and any other diplomas, certificates or confirmations of work experience placements.

We would be delighted to welcome you to a selection day alongside other apprenticeship applicants. You will get to know the people in charge of the vocational training programme and have the chance to talk to current apprentices.

Good to know
  • This personal contact is all about both parties getting to know each other. You will gain an insight into us and your chosen apprenticeship. You will also have the opportunity to impress us with your strengths and abilities. This will serve as a basis for deciding how to proceed from here.

If we have gained a good first impression of one another, we would like for us to get to know each other even better in an individual interview. The aim is to discuss our mutual requirements and expectations in detail and answer any outstanding questions. The interview focuses on you: your strengths, interests and desires. We are excited to find out even more about you and why you want to complete an apprenticeship with us.

Good to know
  • Your interviewers at this stage will include the relevant vocational training manager for your apprenticeship.

Congratulations! You have made it through! We will invite you and your parents to the signing of your apprenticeship contract. At this meeting, we again cover in detail the arrangements for the start of your apprenticeship and how things will proceed from there.

Good to know
  • This meeting generally lasts between 60 and 90 minutes and ends with a short tour of the office.
  • For apprentices from all parts of Switzerland, the apprenticeship at Helsana starts with a three-day introduction at our training centre in Bellinzona.
