Tardoc – new outpatient medical tariff

From 2026, new rules will apply for the invoicing of outpatient medical services. The previous Tarmed tariff will be replaced by Tardoc and outpatient flat-rate charges. Here’s what the tariff change means for you.

What’s changing?

Your medical care will remain unchanged. What will change is the way in which outpatient services, i.e. medical treatments without a subsequent overnight stay in hospital, are invoiced:

  • In future, your doctor’s services will be recorded and invoiced using a more modern system.
  • As doctor’s practices, clinics and hospitals have to convert their software for the new year, medical invoices may arrive later than usual initially. As soon as we receive your invoice, we will process it as usual.
  • Invoices will now be generated according to a digital standard and will also have several QR codes. This allows us to transfer paper invoicing data securely and electronically to our invoicing system. Please submit proof for reimbursement together with the QR code sheet containing all QR codes so that we can process your invoice.

In summary:

The change primarily affects the invoicing system between doctors and health insurers. Hardly anything will change for insured persons – except that invoices will become more modern and transparent and invoice details can be accessed digitally via QR code.
