Assistance / Emergency call center
Holidays are for relaxing – if something happens while you are abroad, we are there for you. For example, our emergency call centre is ready to help you 24 hours a day in the event of an illness or injury and will organise the necessary emergency measures.
The emergency call center helps you quickly and easily with all medical emergencies abroad, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year on +41 58 340 16 11.
Costs are only assumed if you go through the emergency call centre.
How much of costs we will assume depends on the country in which you become ill or have an accident.
In an EU or EFTA country
Thanks to the Agreement on the Free Movement of Persons, you benefit from the basic insurance law in the country in which you are obtaining medically necessary treatments and services. Show your European health insurance card on the back of your health insurance card in the hospital or practice and you will be treated.
In all other countries
For medically necessary treatments outside the EU/EFTA, you receive the costs up to twice the amount that the same treatment would cost in Switzerland (tariff in the canton of residence).
If you have concluded TOP, COMPLETA or WORLD supplementary insurance, you receive the costs that exceed double the tariff.
You also have the option of treatment in specialised clinics in southern Germany, with first-rate medical and nursing care. The offer applies to inpatient elective surgery as well as outpatient rehabilitation for neurology, orthopaedics, heart disease and other specialities.
These clinics offer you first-class medical and nursing care as well as therapeutic treatment. You benefit from accommodation of above-average comfort. You receive all of this at a considerably lower price than in a comparable Swiss clinic. You receive the costs of a stay in southern Germany, if the stay is medically necessary and you have cost reimbursement – exactly the same as in Switzerland.
