Avoiding double insurance
If you perform military service for longer than 60 days at a time you can suspend your basic insurance for the duration of this period. During active military service you are insured directly with the Army and therefore don’t have to pay basic insurance premiums.
The suspension only applies for compulsory health insurance. Supplementary insurance is not affected by this.
What do I need to do?
Please supply us with the marching orders or confirmation of reporting for active duty before commencement of duty. After the completion of active service please supply us with the excerpt from your army service record as confirmation.
