For medical expertise

The medical staff of Medi24 are available to Helsana customers 24 hours a day to answer health-related questions and provide specific recommendations – expertly, independently and free of charge – on 0800 100 008. It's an ideal way to get health advice outside doctors' surgery hours – and if you are unsure about whether you need to visit a doctor.

In case of emergencies abroad

In the event of illness or an accident abroad, our customers can contact the emergency call centre 24 hours a day and 365 days a year on +41 58 340 16 11. From providing the hospital with a cost approval to medically necessary repatriation – we ensure Helsana customers get the support and emergency measures they need.

Following a traumatic event

Following a traumatic event, Helsana customers can call 058 340 16 11, the free emergency number for emergency psychological support, at any time of the day or night. An emergency psychologist will call back within 24 hours and provide professional advice in absolute confidence. The psychological support is provided by psychologists from CareLink, an experienced and independent organisation. These experts are required to maintain professional confidentiality and do not reveal any details of the conversation to the health insurance company.

Theodora Foundation

We're proud to be a partner of the Theodora Foundation, and are committed to providing hospitalised children with light-hearted moments, even during difficult times. The Theodora Foundation aims to reduce the suffering of children who are in hospital or specialist institutions by getting them to laugh and enjoy themselves. Every week this recognised charitable foundation organises and finances visits from 70 professional performers to 35 hospitals and 22 specialist institutions for disabled children throughout Switzerland. With Helsana’s support, it arranges around 100,000 visits to children a year.

We are contributing to the social integration of sick children with the help of Avatar robots. The Avatar robot Nao allows children and young people to stay in contact with their school and home life even when they have to be in hospital for a long time. Nao stands in for the child at school and makes it possible for him or her to be there in real time and take part in lessons.
