Hôpital ophtalmique Jules-Gonin A unique set of competences in the field of ophthalmology allows the Hôpital ophtalmique Jules-Gonin to give sight-impaired people access to diagnostic services, treatment and support.

The Hôpital ophtalmique (Eye Hospital) is part of the Asile des Aveugles ("Home for the Blind") Foundation. Its reputation for clinical and surgical expertise is based on the first-class training and fundamental research that make it an internationally recognised centre of excellence. A training institution, the Hospital is the ophthalmology department of the University of Lausanne's faculty of biology and medicine.

Its scope includes general ophthalmology and all the medical and surgical specialities within that discipline. The Hospital also encompasses an emergency department, a rehabilitation and low vision unit, clinical and fundamental research facilities and an integrated diagnostic imaging centre.
