The HOSPITAL PLUS BONUS supplementary hospital insurance policy has been classified as a closed portfolio since 1 January 2018. For this reason, all insured persons have the option to voluntarily switch to the HOSPITAL Semi-Private supplementary hospital insurance policy without a medical examination.
In principle, you can switch to HOSPITAL Semi-Private at any time as of the first of the following month. You can, of course, keep your HOSPITAL PLUS BONUS supplementary hospital insurance policy and profit from all existing product benefits. However, the premiums in a closed portfolio can increase more significantly over the long term than for a supplementary hospital insurance policy with an open portfolio.
Please note the comparison of benefit components between HOSPITAL PLUS BONUS and HOSPITAL Semi-Private:
If you switch to the HOSPITAL Semi-Private supplementary hospital insurance policy, the bonus model will no longer apply. This means that you will not be entitled to a no-claims bonus discount. In return, you will also no longer risk losing your bonus level if you claim benefits.
No contribution from old age provisions
People insured under HOSPITAL PLUS BONUS do not receive any contribution from old age provisions. Since this product previously did not have any need for old age provisions, none were created.
