"Securing health for a lifetime": Helsana tackles five key topics for the future in its new strategy

“Mental health”, “longevity”, “trying to conceive & pregnancy”, “living independently” and “saving for health issues” are five areas in which Helsana is supporting its customers and developing new products and services as part of its new strategy.

Helsana’s “securing health for a lifetime” strategy focuses on the successful continuation and constant optimisation of its core business, the individual and corporate customer business. Financial stability and a strong market position are at the forefront of the strategy. Helsana strives towards innovation and growth to remain attractive to the people it insures and, in doing so, stay competitive in the long term. At the same time, Helsana pursues the goal of sustainable corporate governance and aims to remain an attractive employer. As the leading health insurance company in Switzerland, Helsana is seeking to shine a spotlight on new topics that are relevant to society and therefore its customers. In addition, Helsana will offer its customers more life insurance solutions in the future. This will be achieved using partner solutions without our own licence.

New topics for the needs of tomorrow

In its new overall strategy “securing health for a lifetime”, Helsana is focusing on five specific topics, with the aim of better supporting its customers in these key future issues for the future:

  • Mental health: Mental health problems are widespread in Switzerland, frequently due to work-related stress, among other things. This affects individuals but also has an impact on companies and society. Helsana intends to expand its services in the field of mental health. 
  • Longevity: People are not just getting older; they also want to stay fit and healthy for as long as possible. Helsana’s ambition is to make longevity products and services accessible to a broad customer base and to serve as a point of contact for scientifically based, modern and personalised prevention products and services.
  • Trying to conceive and pregnancy: People are choosing to start their families later and later in life. This has consequences when it comes to trying to conceive and pregnancy. Helsana wants to provide more targeted support to customers on issues to do with family planning and enhance its advisory services.
  • Living independently: As the population ages, there is an increasing need for self-determination in old age. This concerns both healthy people and those suffering from an illness. Helsana is planning to create comprehensive information and support products and services to help its customers live independently in their old age.
  • Saving for health issues: The costs for health issues are rising rapidly, leading to a growing need to set money aside for these. 

In these five areas, Helsana will also enter into partnerships with selected companies in order to offer its customers even more attractive products and services.
