Every year, the Fondation Sana, Helsana's main shareholder, honours one or more individuals. On this occasion, the prize was shared by two people.

Heidi Reber from Rohrbach received the Prix Sana for the tireless support she has given to sick or marginalised people in need of help; she has often cared for them over several years, always on a voluntary basis, either in their homes or in her own. Heidi Zihlmann from Schwarzenberg was honoured for the unconditional care she provided to her family. For almost 30 years she has cared for her daughter, who suffers from spina bifida, and enabled her to lead a relatively independent life. In addition, over the years she first cared for her father, then her mother, and finally also her sister during their severe and terminal illnesses. The commitment of both prizewinners has been honoured with an award to each of CHF 15,000.

On the website, you can also find the entry conditions for the 2017 award. The Fondation Sana is already looking for women and men to stand as candidates. The Prix Sana offers awards worth a total of CHF 30,000. Do you know anyone who deserves the award? If so, tell the Fondation Sana. As a thank-you to those doing so, all submissions will be entered in a draw to win three hotel stays valued at CHF 1,000.
