The Helsana Group is acquiring Adcubum AG, the leading provider of health and accident insurance software in Switzerland. By acquiring Adcubum, Helsana is ensuring the longterm stability and ongoing development of IT systems that are of key importance to Helsana and the entire industry. All clients will continue to have equal access to Adcubum products and services. The software provider will remain an independent company headquartered in St. Gallen.

The Helsana Group is acquiring Adcubum AG, which is majority-owned by the American private equity firm TA Associates. Adcubum will be assigned to the holding company of the Helsana Group, and will remain an independent company headquartered in St. Gallen. All existing contracts will be fulfilled. Operational management will remain with the current management and all employees will be retained.
“With this investment, Helsana wants to preserve and further develop its stable, efficient and innovative health insurance software,” said Helsana CEO Roman Sonderegger regarding the reasons for acquiring Adcubum. “The investments and targeted innovations for the software benefit Helsana and all of the health and accident insurance providers that work with Adcubum. This ultimately benefits millions of insured persons throughout Switzerland.”
As the new owner, Helsana guarantees that Adcubum will continue to operate as an independent company. With this in mind, the majority of Adcubum’s new Board of Directors will also be made up of individuals who are independent of Helsana in the future.

The acquisition is being carried out by Helsana Beteiligungen AG, a company specializing in investments in the healthcare sector. The purchase is being financed via the holding company (Helsana Ltd). There is no impact on the insurance business and no premium money is being used for the purchase of Adcubum. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
