This year's Telethon solidarity campaign for people suffering from rare hereditary diseases was carried out on 4 and 5 December. Helsana staff helped during the donation campaign, which lasted for around 30 hours, by answering almost 400 calls from donors.

Helsana is committed to the Telethon campaign as the main sponsor. In addition to a financial donation, Helsana provides infrastructure and manpower for the two-day solidarity campaign, which was also covered this year by the local TV channels in French-speaking Switzerland and Ticino.
During the donation campaign, which lasted for around thirty hours, 35 Helsana volunteers at the Lausanne service centre answered 389 calls from donors. A respectable CHF 73,075 was raised on the hotline alone, compared with CHF 82,130 in 2014. In return, more people donated via SMS this year. In total, the campaign generated CHF 2,317,294. Half of the donations go to affected families and half are used for medical research into hereditary diseases.
