Helsana Annual Report

The Helsana Group looks back on another successful financial year in 2025. The result underscores Helsana’s position as a leading Swiss health insurer and shows that Helsana is a solvent company and ready for the future.

Longer life expectancy, having children later in life, increased mental stress: society is changing – and so are the demands placed on the healthcare sector. At the same time, new needs and growing expectations come up against concerns about the affordability of healthcare and care services. A high-quality healthcare system is needed that is accessible and affordable for all. Helsana is ready for this change and is responding to it on a solid foundation.

Another encouraging Group result

At Group level, Helsana achieved a positive annual result of CHF 357 million. The underwriting result shows a profit of CHF 43 million, which represents a combined ratio of 99.5%. In view of political uncertainties and the challenging interest rate environment, the net investment income of CHF 398 million is also noteworthy. Helsana is succeeding in gaining additional customers in a competitive market. As a result, premium volume has increased again and now stands at CHF 9 billion. In 2025, Helsana paid out benefits up to CHF 8,4 billion for its customers. Another important component of the encouraging Group result is the lower operating expense ratio. Increased efficiency and innovation have reduced this from 7.4% to 6.9%.

Investing in key future issues

In 2025, Helsana made central course-setting decisions, launching its new strategy, which is now embedded in the company. Helsana is driving digitalisation forward. The acquisition of Adcubum, the leading software provider for health and accident insurers, is a milestone in terms of stability, predictability and innovation. Helsana is investing in future-relevant issues such as “mental health”, “longevity”, “trying to conceive and pregnancy”, “living independently” and “saving for health issues”. And of course, even in times of change, Helsana will keep doing everything it can to successfully continue its core business and to develop in the interests of its customers.
