Life and work in harmony: How to achieve a good work-life balance

As a leading company in the healthcare sector, our employees’ health is very important to us, and that also includes a healthy work-life balance. We help our employees achieve this, which is why we have held the “Familie UND Beruf” (Family AND Career) accolade from the Fachstelle UND organisation since 2018.

Depending on their organisational unit and employment level, our employees are assigned their personal annual working hours based on a 40-hour working week. They can decide by agreement with their manager when exactly they will work those hours on a case-by-case basis.

They can also work up to 60% of their hours from home.

  • All posts are advertised with the possibility of part-time working.
  • Part-time trials: employees working full-time (100%) have the option of reducing their hours by 10–20% for a three-month trial period.

  • At least 27 days’ paid annual leave (over the age of 50: 32 days)
  • Option to purchase up to 10 days’ leave per year
  • Possibility of unpaid leave and sabbaticals

  • Transparent salary bands for all job profiles and attractive commission model/variable compensation for specific sales profiles
  • Attractive discounts on basic and supplementary insurances – including for family members
  • Voluntary pension contributions over and above those required by law
  • Mobility budget, SBB voucher and many other special offers

  • 16 weeks’ maternity leave, 3 weeks’ paternity leave, both on full pay
  • Possibility of reducing the employment level to at least 80% for six months
  • Care allowance of CHF 100 per child, per month
  • Parenting courses to help improve work/life balance

In addition to three days off per incident, additional help is available, such as advice and support and the Swiss Red Cross (SRC) respite care services.

“We particularly value top sharing, as we don’t have to choose between our private lives and our careers.

Furthermore, thanks to our different skills and experiences, we can learn from each other and the question of a deputy is always solved, even in the case of long absences.”
