Our application process at a glance

If you think you would like to work for us and we think you might be a suitable candidate, then we do everything we can to make sure we are the perfect match. We take our applicants seriously and give them plenty of opportunity to get to know us – and vice versa – over the course of a multi-stage process.

Four steps to employment

Step 1: The online application

You’ve found a vacancy you wish to apply for? Then let our online application tool guide you step by step through the process of applying online. You will immediately receive confirmation of receipt from us and an initial response within ten days. If your application is successful, we will promptly arrange an interview with you.

Good to know:

  • Make sure your application is complete and summarised in a single Word file or PDF document – this will ensure you have everything to hand when filling out the online application and prevent you from interrupting the session.
  • Please use the same language as in the job advertisement.
  • Your CV should be concise, clear, current and complete. We are also interested in any ‘breaks’ you may have had.
Step 2: The personal interview

An initial interview will allow us both to introduce ourselves and discuss mutual requirements and expectations. The focus of the interview will be on your strengths, interests and experiences. We will also be keen to hear more about what makes you particularly suited to Helsana and the vacancy in question. And, of course, you will also have the opportunity to ask us questions.

Good to know:

  • You will be interviewed by your future line manager and a representative from the HR Consulting team.
  • Lots of useful information is available at helsana.ch and on our social media channels to help you prepare for the interview.
  • If, for some reason, you are unable to keep your appointment or are held up, please inform us as soon as possible so that we can arrange an alternative date, if necessary.
Step 3: The in-depth interview

Once we have gained a positive impression of each other in the first interview, we will use this second interview to get better acquainted and reach a final decision. This interview is about clarifying technical details and gaining an insight into the way you work and solve problems. Whenever possible, you will be given the opportunity to take a look around your future workplace or get involved in a case study.

Good to know:

  • You will be interviewed by your future line manager and a representative of the HR Consulting team.
  • The opportunity often arises for you to get to know your future team in a relaxed atmosphere over a cup of coffee or lunch.
Step 4: Welcome aboard

You’ve made it! We now have the pleasure of welcoming you on board as a new employee. In an effort to ease you into your new role as quickly as possible, our Welcome Day gives you the opportunity to meet your colleagues and find out everything you need to know about your new job: organisational matters such as contacts, how to record your working hours in the system or recharge your badge, as well as practical things such as where the nearest baker is or how to find car-sharing or sports partners on the intranet. And then you’re good to go.

Good to know:

  • Your very own personal ‘mentor’ will be on hand to assist and advise you during the first few months.
  • And if you would like to share your experience of the application process with us, simply publish it on the independent platform Kununu.
