We are a proud partner of the Theodora Foundation, Avatar and the Special Olympics.
With our Helsana Trails, we help more exercise become part of everyday life and consequently make an active contribution to preventive health measures.
Through our commitments, we demonstrate our long-term dedication to society.
Special Olympics Switzerland is part of the biggest sporting movement in the world for mentally handicapped people. The organisation enjoys the support of Helsana.
As a premium partner Helsana is committed to the Swiss organisation of the Special Olympics in Switzerland and provides members of its own staff to assist it (corporate volunteering). The Special Olympics organisation supports mentally handicapped people all over the world to develop in line with their capabilities and get fit. Regular training sessions and the opportunity to take part in regional, national and international competitions enable sportsmen and sportswomen, their family members and the public to experience something together. This results in greater appreciation, acceptance and equal opportunities for the sportsmen and women concerned.
As a partner of the Theodora Foundation Helsana helps put a smile on the faces of young hospital patients and their relatives, thus alleviating their suffering.
The Theodora Foundation strives to reduce the suffering of children in hospital and other specialist institutions by putting a smile on their faces. The recognised non-profit foundation organises and finances visits from 70 professional artists to 35 hospitals and 22 specialist institutions for the disabled across Switzerland every week. Helsana's support enables them to provide about 100,000 visits to children in hospital every year.
Helsana makes an important contribution to social integration and is involved in all sorts of ways to aid developments and innovations in the healthcare sector. Our sponsorship of Avatar is an example of our commitment.
Avatar allows Helsana to help sick children remain socially integrated. The Avatar robot enables children and younger people to stay in contact with their school and home life throughout a long stay in hospital. Nao stands in for the child in situ and makes it possible for him or her to be "there" in real time and to take part "live" in school lessons.
Around 120 Helsana trails invite you to get active in the great outdoors. They are suitable for all levels of fitness and are available year-round.
