You're often tired, and occasionally feel light-headed. Sometimes you feel sick. What's more, your period is late. Are you pregnant? A question that's not so easy to answer. Because though these symptoms are indeed typical, they don't mean for sure that you're pregnant. But having them is reason enough to take a pregnancy test.
There are various early signs of pregnancy. However, feeling tired or sick doesn't necessarily mean that you're pregnant. You may also miss a period for other reasons. For example, if you're stressed or taking certain medications.
Typical signs of pregnancy are:
- Missed period
- Changes to the nipples
- Sickness and vomiting
- Food cravings
- Abdominal cramps
- Increased urination
- Circulatory problems and tiredness
- Raised basal temperature
It's best to find out for certain as quickly as possible. Modern pregnancy tests are fairly reliable. If the test turns out to be positive, you should make an appointment with your gynaecologist.
