A healthy diet and a sufficient supply of folic acid

What about eating during pregnancy? Make sure above all that you have a healthy and varied diet. Avoid raw meat and raw fish. You can eat as many vegetables and as much fruit as you like. It's important that you get enough iron, calcium, iodine and vitamin B12. You need to increase your intake of folic acid during pregnancy. This vitamin can be found mainly in a large number of vegetables, potatoes and fruit. It might be advisable to take a vitamin supplement containing folic acid. Talk to your doctor about it.

Exercise and relaxation

Moderate exercise does you good. Make sure you get a lot of exercise in the fresh air. Walking and swimming are ideal. Pilates or yoga are a good idea too. However, try to avoid sports involving a risk of falling or injury.

What you need now more than ever are peace and relaxation. Try to avoid unnecessary stress – also at work if you're employed – and calmly deal with the challenges everyday life presents.
