A lot of blood, sweat and tears go into making every Helsana Trail. The Simmental Trail in the Bernese Oberland is the brainchild of Max Brügger, a keen runner from Boltigen, who planned and laid out the routes. In this film, he takes us along on "his" Helsana Trail.
Max Brügger is a train driver and passionate jogger. Jogging helped him to give up smoking. It was only while running through the Simmental countryside that he realised how varied the landscape is, and thought that other people should have the chance to enjoy it too.
He applied to Helsana to have the Simmental Trail set up, and it now runs practically past his front door. In this film, Max Brügger explains how the project came about and what is special about the Helsana Trail in Simmental.
